This lamp is both attractive and functional. It's perfect for the small side table on which I've deployed it and equally suitable for any space where you might want a low-profile lighting fixture. As indicated on its promotional page, this lamp is powered by an internal re-chargeable battery charged by a standard C-cable; I use any of the several Android laptop or phone cables I have laying around the house. It can be turned on either plugged in or unplugged operating on its battery power. The two photos I've posted with this review demonstrate this. This feature also makes it easy to move the lamp around whenever and to where-ever you might want. The lamp itself is quite attractive -- sleek, modern, and low-profile. It's three lighting levels range from a soft lumination that creates a gentle mood to a moderate brightness sufficient to read text, though it should be kept in mind that this is not really designed as reading or task lighting. Instead, this lighting is best for creating a relaxing, intimate environment. This product is a great example of how well-designed items of everyday use can add pleasure and comfort to one's own everyday. For that reason this lamp is much more than just utilitarian and functional.
